Vertical steel scrap preheating electric arc furnace
The vertical arc furnace type changed the traditional scrap adding method which needs to open the furnace cover. The improved scrap adding method adopt professional charge basket or belt conveyor add scrap into the closed shaft from top. By adding scrap continuously, achieved the whole molten pool operation of electric arc furnace. Preheating scrap was added into the trough of bottom shaft. This trough was moved by vibrating-type cart. Specialized four-axis type actuator is adopted to add scraps into the furnace from the flank side of furnace continuously.
High temperature flue gas enters into the shaft from feed throat furnace side. meet the scraps reversely, after preheating the scraps, then discharged into gas duct, through settling chamber enters into dedusting system.
The vertical electric arc furnace keeps the advanced design of Consteel furnace, such as vibrating feeding method. And the Consteel furnace have some shortages, such as, limited to preheat scrap steel, the conveyor belt of scrap steel is too long (45-60m, generally) that takes up large area of the workshop. The vertical electric arc furnace avoids this kind of problem effectively.
Outstanding advantages of Vertical steel scrap preheating electric arc furnace :
1) Scrap entered from top into shaft batches. High temperature flue gas and scrap flowed reversely. Effect of scrap preheating is obvious. Due to the reduction of the weight of each batch of scrap steel and the reduction of scrap’s standing time on shaft finger. The possibility of bonded scrap steel is eliminated. Meanwhile, shock of scrap steel on finger is reduced.
2) Lower fingers in the furnace can lift to avoid the damage caused by the falling of scrap steel.
3) The charging basket enters closed chamber firstly before it enters into shaft. Scrap steel is added into shaft in fully sealed condition. So, when adding scrap, escape of fume and dust is avoided. It is very helpful to environmental protection.
